High-throughput system for virus screening of donor blood samples

- In cooperation with our partner chemagen and on behalf of a German customer a system was designed and manufactured for HIV, HBV, and HCV diagnosis of pooled blood samples. We integrated two magnetic separation units of the chemagic MSM I, one chemagic dispenser, and one liquid handling system. The complete system performs all nucleic acid purification steps from plasma-mini-pools of 9.6 mL each and ensures that the eluates are ready to use for subsequent qPCR detection analysis.
